Born in St. Petersburg and raised in San Francisco, Asya began her artistic career as a classical ballet dancer. She trained at the San Francisco Ballet School and the School of American Ballet before performing internationally with companies including San Francisco Ballet, Miami City Ballet, and Birmingham Royal Ballet.

Photography developed as a natural extension of her artistic practice. Influenced from an early age by her father, her work reflects a strong sensitivity to movement, line, and form shaped by her background in dance.

Her photography has appeared in leading international dance publications and major British newspapers, and she has collaborated with organisations including the Royal Ballet and English National Ballet.

She is represented by ArenaPal and is based in London.
